Oil painting in the style of a 'Persian' miniature on found wood. I made this series of miniature ( painting 5.5cm x 9cm ) whilst on a residency in Azerbaijan in 2019. I found animals to be widely used as signs and metaphors for narratives or fables in ancient Islamic drawings made all over the near and far east. When back in Penzance I made frames for them, this one is a re used Victorian plaster and wood frame which has been gloss varnished. Framed size 13cm x 16.5cm x 2.5cm
